GARY BLUESTEIN, ESQ., CTRS began his legal career as a member of the New York State Bar employed as an attorney through the U.S. Treasury Department’s Honors program and served as counsel to the Internal Revenue Service and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney through the Justice Department.  As an attorney for the Government, Gary received numerous Special Act merit awards for outstanding legal work. He also served on national task forces relating to policy and procedures implemented by the Internal Revenue Service.  Gary entered the private sector and formed the partnership, Bluestein & Muhlbauer, P.C., specializing in tax controversy. In addition to his law practice, Gary is a Professor at the University at Buffalo Law School where he has taught Tax Practice & Procedure for the last fifteen years. He is an entertaining speaker who regularly gets top ratings. He is the author of professional books and articles. Gary’s many years of crafting successful solutions to complex tax problems allow to him relate the real-life cases that make his presentations come to life.

LAWRENCE M. LAWLER, CPA, CTRS, EA (Larry) is the National Director of the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers (ASTPS).  Larry has represented literally thousands of taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and is a frequent public speaker, a writer on professional topics, and a regular trainer of tax professionals nationwide.  He is a dynamic and knowledgeable speaker who offers a mix of information, personality and humor in his presentations and interviews.  His audiences enjoy him as much as he enjoys speaking.  He has become nationally recognized for his skills in solving tax problems, his marketing expertise, and exceptional practice management abilities.  He has been a New York Certified Public Accountant since 1973.  He is also a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist and a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute.  Larry is the managing partner of Lawler & Witkowski, CPAs, PC, the  firm he established in 1973. The firm derives seventy percent of its annual income from TAPeR (Tax Problem Resolution) work. Other credentials include Certified World Class Speaking Coach and Certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach. Larry is often tapped as an expert interview on tax and accounting issues or as a quotable expert source for media.

The American Society of Tax Problem Solvers (ASTPS) is the sponsoring organization for this presentation. ASTPS is  a non-profit professional association. Membership includes attorneys, Enrolled Agents, and CPAs. ASTPS sponsors educational events specifically related to tax problem resolution before the Internal Revenue Service.
